Sketch Synth 3D Lite is on the Loose

The Lite version has just been released, it’s first review was 5* so thanks to whoever did that, was nice to wake up to :-) The Lite version removes a lot of complexity from the synth, so for instance you can’t change FX settings for each of the channels, nor load your own samples. This makes using it a lot simpler and then you can be gradually opened to the full extent of the features. It does though include every sound drawing feature apart from patterns, so you can build up an 8 beat bar using all the views, but not a song. Anyway, I hope people enjoy it. A slightly deliberate back door is that you can load Sketch Synth save files into it and they will reconfigure the axis and FX settings; so you might start exchanging save files.

Wiksnet release MIDI Studio

Wiksnet have just release MIDI Studio, I got my hand on a copy to give it a whirl. You might be able to tell from the latest Sketch Synth release that I am very keen on having 4 XY pads, each controlling FX levels on one of four tracks, a while back I did this quick dub step demo like that and it seems an effective way to modulate otherwise dry tracks:

Anyway MIDI Studio offers a 6 XY pad view that lets you do this, although I think it’s best feature is it’s keyboard, it lets you create custom keyboards to play in scales, it also has an arpeggiator built in as well. It’s also zero MIDI config as well, so it outputs on any coreMIDI channel that is available to it. The website is here:
